HAIR HOW-TO
Townsend teased the roots around the crown of the head with a rattail comb before giving the hair an uneven wave with a 1 1/2-inch curling iron. “Take thick chunks of hair and focus on the area around the face,” he advises. “Roll the iron away from the face for the most flattering effect.” To finish, he spritzed on Sally Hershberger Genius Spray Wax and shook the hair with his fingers. (Yes, you read correctly—this helps loosen any too-tidy curls.) His final words of wisdom? “Resist the urge to brush,” he says. “This look is all about uneven kinks.”
