HAIR HOW-TO
“You always see January as this ’50s, sort of Grace Kelly character,” says Townsend. “I wanted to really show off the power of hair and makeup with a bit of a ‘20s influence.” To aptly frame the star’s oval face, he cut a golden strawberry wig in a sharp, asymmetrical bob with heavy above-the-brow fringe. “If you want a cut like this, ask your stylist to use thinning shears on the ends for softness.” A mist of heat protectant spray is also a must for a look this straight and sleek. “The heat settings on most flatirons are way too high for the hair,” explains Townsend. “Douse the ends with spray to protect the hair shaft and prevent it from scorching.”
