Happy Birthday to MK and A!
I met Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen waaaaay back when they were 16 years old on a photo shoot for Teen Vogue magazine. I remember I was so nervous that my hands were shaking and I was terrified I would burn them with my curling iron if it didn’t stop, but once the girls arrived at the studio and I met them my nerves settled a bit because they were extremely nice and very professional. While the girls were in the hair and makeup chairs, they told us about attending the Charlie’s Angels premiere the night before and how much fun they had.
While we were on set my agent Lisa came by the studio to say hi but I was working a wind machine and couldn’t leave the set. I saw MK and A’s manager walk over to Lisa and ask her to step outside and that’s when I almost threw up all over the set! Of course I could only think negative thoughts about how they didn’t like me or maybe I did something wrong, but when we got the shot and the girls went to change outfits for the next shot I ran over to my agent with a terrified look on my face and she told me that the girls actually really liked me and wanted to know if I would be interested in working with them on a film called New York Minute they were going to be shooting soon. I said YES (of course) and I’ve been working with them ever since!
