About 9 months ago I found myself with an unexpected week off with no jobs, not even a single blowout or bang trim! I am not very good with down time, I mean, of course I like a break but 2 days is usually enough for me. Plus, I didn’t know I was going to have a week off so I didn’t make any plans. So I decided to round up some friends and do some spontaneous photo shoots and have some creative fun.

We had no idea where the pictures would go or who would see them and we had no boundaries so we let our minds go wild and just played dress up with some up and coming models. It was like the ’90s, when I was a hair assistant and would get together with make up assistants and photographer’s assistants and do test shoots so we could build our portfolios. I have to admit, it was so much fun!

Brainstorming shoot ideas with incredible make up artists like Rachel Goodwin and Kathy Jueng and talking inspiration with amazingly talented photographer Don Flood was heaven to me and then seeing these ideas come to life and seeing the images on the digital screen sparked so much creative energy in me that I could not contain, so we kept on shooting! Then we enlisted the help of the extraordinary stylist Estee Stanley to bring in her inspirations and ideas and she took our beauty images to the next level with some seriously beautiful fashions and jewelry.

I wanted to share all these amazing photos and how they were created, so I decided to start a blog, which has now turned into what I like to call an on-line beauty destination. I’m going to share all the tricks, tips, and tools I’ve learned over the years on photo shoots and getting women (and men!) ready for red carpet events and I’m asking all my friends in the beauty industry to share their knowledge and talent too. Let’s be honest; hair and make up is fun so let’s play!
